Belal Arar

Belal, from Beit Ummar, studies Accounting at Bethlehem University. He is one of the leaders of the Israeli-Palestinian youth group at Roots, which brings Israeli and Palestinian teens together to discuss all topics relevant to their lives. Belal’s role in Roots has changed him: He understands Israelis in a vastly deeper way and has come to appreciate the importance or respecting the perspectives of others. Belal believes that it is crucial to speak with and respect people with whom one disagrees, and that part of being human is to respect and love people of different races and religions. He is proud to be a part of Roots.
