Tracie Bernstein
Tracie Bernstein first encountered Roots when her Atlanta congregation hosted Rav Hanan and Ali Abu Awad in their initial speaking tour in 2014. Her family was honored to be the first to share a Shabbat dinner in which Ali and Rav Hanan could dine together. Following October 7, 2023, Tracie sought Roots’ compassionate space for listening and complexity, and initiated a Roots event co-sponsored by 10 Atlanta-area organizations. It was then that conversations about joining the Friends of Roots board begin.
Professionally, Tracie created Nourishing the Soul Workshops (NTS) in 2020 after decades of work with some of the Jewish community's most exciting and talented innovators. Through NTS, Tracie offers professional facilitation for non-profit staff & board retreats as well as training seminars. A certified instructor in both Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) and QPR Suicide prevention, Tracie offers these trainings to non-mental health professionals throughout the US. Tracie lives in a suburb of Atlanta with her husband, Rabbi Michael Bernstein.
